Worries

“Amateurs worry about equipment, professionals worry about money, masters worry about light.”

Very wise words from Mattias’ blog.

It made me think of the time a few years ago when I interviewed a Japanese singer and sat in on the photo shoot afterwards. Since I’d just bought my first pro Nikon digital camera, I was keen to see what kit the photographer would use,  and maybe pick up some tips.

After he set up the lights and backdrop though, he pulled out one of these. He had another two battered veterans his bag (“because they keep breaking on me”). Needless to say, the photos were fantastic.

By the way, does anyone know where or who the quote above comes from?

Ah yes light, since I started shooting film and leaving the DSLR in the bag I’ve developed a whole new understanding of light.

  2. Apparently Vernon Trent said it first according to Photo Quotes.com

  3. That o don`t know and the missing…”but I just take pictures” at the end changes the whole meaning and kudos of the quote. That bit for sure is original me thinks, the wise three lines before, not so sure. maybe we should ask him.

Sounds more suitable to prostitution than photography. Aghh, but then again, photographers are …

Thanks for the comment Tony. Sorry mine isn’t a little more eloquent!
